61. Do you consider yourself a punctual person? Punctuality, recommended by us in previous books, is not only to keep in mind during an interview. If you are not punctual, we suggest you to modify your habit, because in the business world it is necessary to respect your time and others’. “Yes. I have some problems to be on time (for example, traffic), I always call to explain the situation. Besides, I am always willing to recover lost time.”
Questions aimed to learn about your initiative and creativity.
62. What do you do when you have difficulties solving a problem? The answers are multiple and each employee is expected to solve the problems that are at their level and to inform when they can’t find the solution. You can have problems that you solve, or try to solve, topics for which you are not authorized. You are not expected to have heroic attitudes. An answer could be: “As a first measure, I try to understand it and know it. From there on, it is always easy to find a solution.”
63. How have you improved your task? Have you enriched your current job? A good employee tries to improve the routines they are in charge of, but – in genera l- there can’t be radical changes in them without a previous authorization from their superiors. You should give the idea that you are a person who promotes changes, but without being a conflictive figure because of that. Your contributions should generate a personal brilliance, but never on detriment of your superiors.
64. Tell me about a job that has been really boring for you. All of the jobs have a part that we don’t really like. It is not convenient for you to talk in detail about the boring or not very interesting aspects. The job you are applying for may have them. A possible answer could be: “All of the jobs can have a boring part, but I don’t take it like that; I simply make the less interesting tasks with the same enthusiasm than the interesting ones.”
65. Tell me about the most interesting job. “The most interesting job was… because…”
66. Which are the aspects of your current job that tense you. You are on a job search; therefore it is reasonable that you are not comfortable with certain aspects of your current job. Anyway, be cautious with your speech.

68. Sometimes, the ways you manage yourself that used to be good in certain situations, stopped being good. Has that ever happened to you? In what situations and what did you learn from that? In this type of questions they are trying to analyze your flexibility in front of changing situations, to changes in general. Talk about some situation that, in your opinion, reflects a flexible attitude from you, adaptable to changes. Don’t talk about situations in which you got mad for having to do something different.
69. Tell me about a situation in which you had to make a decision you were not authorized for. Think before answering. It won’t be well seen if you decided something you were not supposed to, also consider that they are asking you for a real anecdote.
70. How do you feel when making important decisions? “I think I am training for that. I feel responsible anyway and I take all the necessary precautions for my decision to be the right one.”
71. Have you inspired on someone to develop your career? You can mention previous bosses or influent people. Think about the answer. It is common to find people whom at the beginning of their careers had the chance to work in very good places, trainers of good professionals and with a strong corporate profile. This is indeed very important for their participants. However, these people sometimes keep such a strong affective relation that later on; no other organization is good enough for them as the one they belonged to. They suffer from the so-called widow syndrome; they cry the lost organization forever. In these cases, frequent in everyday reality, you have to be careful about how you mention the people who have been a source of inspiration. One possibility is not to give names: “Yes, many people. I have been lucky to work with brilliant, active and talented people.”
72. Are you capable to work with no direct supervision? Figures as the telework are not very frequent yet, in which they require many automatons. However, it is very important in many jobs to count with collaborators with little supervision necessity.
73. How did you manage the most difficult decision you had to take? It is very convenient to have an anecdote at hand in order to answer this type of questions.
74. Tell me if in your work trajectory you have had the chance to be someone’s tutor and how did you feel about it. If they work with this scheme at your company, it will be interesting for you to talk about it, either if they ask you or not about this in a direct way.
