31. Do you think you have made mistakes? Give me an example.
One of the biggest benefits of intelligence is the capacity of learning from our mistakes and disappointments. Talk about a real situation from which you have learnt something.
32. This position requires making frequent presentations. Tell me about a situation that has been difficult for you and how you felt about it.
There are people who have panic attacks when they have to speak in public. If this is your case, take some kind of action today in order to solve it, from a therapy to an oratory course. Keep it in mind.
If you think you would do it right, say it. If you had the chance to do it, because you made presentations or gave conferences, talk about a successful experience.
33. Do you think that the only way of doing a great job is doing it yourself?
We all have the tendency to do with our own hand a task when we don’t trust other people. The first step to delegate is trust on other’s capacity. When there is no trust, the reasons can be numerous, but two very important ones to mention are our insecurity or the other’s capacity. As you may understand, both things can be modified.
It doesn’t talk well about you if you ”think that the only way of doing a god job is doing it yourself”. Therefore, if this is what you think, reconsider you attitude, you should improve it.
34. If you unexpectedly receive a millionaire amount of money, because of an inheritance or because you won it, what would you do?
I think there is no possible honest answer to this question, until the very moment a person goes through this situation. You can say something like this.
Do you have any fantasy? Maybe you can talk about it saying that it is a fantasy.
You can rehearse some possible answer about possible businesses you could face.
Don’t use answer like: “I would never work again because I hate what I do”, or “I close the door on my boss’ nose” or other similar one you may think of.
35. Do you have a good relation with your work mates?
If you haven’t had problems with your work mates, talk about it.
If you have had problems with your work mates, you can rehearse an answer similar to this one: “I have had some arguments with my work mates on my last job; now I think that the group was already constituted, I tried to modify it and it was not good. The good relations are important and I hope to use my experiences to establish better relations in the future.” We strongly recommend you not to talk about the anecdotes of the past and get mad while telling them.
36. What can you say about yourself?
Try a short and positive answer about you. Telling the truth but describing positive things.
37. Which one do you think are your best abilities?
Mention your specific work abilities that are apply to the position you are applying for.
38. Tell me about a situation in which you had to resist a very high and prolonged pressure of the environment.
Think about situations in which you had to work under pressure and describe them. Neither “funny” or as a “prowess”, or with a “victim” tone. Talk about the situation in a descriptive way. What produced the pressure situation and you and your group performed in it, if this it’s pertinent.
“Yes. The pressure is positive, but I think it shouldn’t turn into routine.”
39. What do you think about big companies?
You can be interviewed in big or small companies. You can be interviewed in an advisory and not to know who your client is. You may have replied an advertisement and you are being considered for another. You can be interviewed by a big company and being evaluated for a small subsidiary.
Therefore, be careful with your answer and don’t take risks that may ruin your search process. You can say that you are interested in a big company, but if they offer you something in a small one, it can equally be a very interesting opportunity.
“I would love to have the chance of working for a big company like this one. But anyway, I think that the most important thing is the style of management of the leaders.”
40. What do you think about middle size companies?
Consider our comments of the previous question. If you are applying to a middle size company, a possible answer could be: “Middle size companies give better possibilities of growth and this is challenging for me.”
