QUESTIONS YOU CAN ASK THE INTERVIEWER
An interviewee who asks intelligent and appropriate questions gains points in front of their interviewer. Never begin asking questions. The best example of what you have to do in terms of questions would be: “If you tell me who the search is for I can tell you about my work history”. Asking the interviewer questions will allow you to better understand what your areas of interest are and in that way, your answers will be in direct relation with what is expected. Never interrupt your interviewer or argue with them. Your questions and the interviewer’s answers shouldn’t exceed more than ten per cent of the time of the interview. Don’t ask problematic, negative or personal questions to the interviewer. In the first interview you should avoid the schedule, salary and benefit topics. If there is something special about it, the interviewer will surely let you know. If you feel that the interview is finished, this is the moment to ask the questions that were pending. Now, we provide you examples of the questions that can have a favorable impact.
Questions about the company If you are participating in a search made by an advisory and you are not aware yet about the name of the company for which it is made, you can make general questions about the company and the position. The interviewer should give you information that let you make yourself a composition of the place without revealing the name of the client if this is not possible. Your interlocutor shouldn’t feel that you, through your questions, want to find out the name of the company, that they want to keep as secret. The questions detailed below are prepared for the moment in which you get an interview in the company.
How many employees does the company have? You can have an idea about the size of the company, but you can also have a false idea. In that way you will get information from the main source.
What are the company’s expansion plans? Find the adequate words and ask about the company and/or the corporation, information you don’t know, future plans.
Let’s see different examples: A company that doesn’t know and is just getting set up in the country. You could ask for a photocopy of the corporate balance. This type of balance will mention what are the countries the company works at, sales amounts, occupied personnel, time in the business, etc. the company can be unknown in the country and this is the way in which you will get information. On the other hand a traditional company installed in the country from long ago and that has different future plans. You can ask for information about it. Relate the information they provide you with other you have read n the businesses newspapers, plans of other companies you know, etc.
