A comment for both men and women

Don’t wear clothes that “don’t go with you” for an interview; it will look really bad on you. Every person has their style and they should keep it. It is important for you to know that there is a “work” style to dress. If you don’t use it regularly, maybe you should think about something that fits you and have ”your own” dressing style in work environments.

THE HAIR

The hair is an important topic, because it will be in your interviewer’s sight during the whole interview as well as your hands, make up, in case of women and the shirt’s collar. We don’t recommend you to have a special hairdo for the interview. On the contrary, it should be natural. But keep in mind, one more time that good appearance will help you in everything you face, including the job search process.

Also consider that, except in very few situations, long and messy hair is not accepted for men or died hair in colors and strange shapes. In the case of women, in which creativity is more accepted, it is also recommended the use good taste when choosing a hairdo and hair colors.

Sometimes, the hair is not shiny and it gives the sensation of little hygiene. Be careful with your general aspect, take care of your hair.

Our purpose isn’t to send you directly to a manicure . We only recommend clean and cared hands for both, men and women.

For those tasks related with health and food, we suggest not wearing rings, except for the wedding ring.

MAKE UP

Be the same person you are everyday when you go to an interview. So, don’t use different make up. Remember that work and day make up is not the same as the make up you wear for a party, so keep a sober aspect. Don’t use new colors that someone has recommended you lately, you may feel uncomfortable later.

You should look good and feel secure.

SOMETHING SPECIAL FOR OVERWEIGHT PEOPLE

You may have read, or maybe lived, that in certain places, people don’t hire overweight people. If this is your case, put special attention to the clothes you wear for the interviews.

You won’t get to loose weight with that, but you will get to improve your aspect. For women: a dark suit with a clear shirt, matching shoes and not a big purse is a first.

Rule out shirts that are too wide and long, checkered shirts, bright colors, use soft make up and discrete lipstick.

Soberness, is a winning card, has to be a golden rule all the time for an overweight person. And a similar parameter for men: dark suit with a clear shirt and an elegant and discrete tie.

AVOID HAVING ALL THE LOOKS AT ONCE

There are people who want to be noticed anywhere they go. If this is your case, we don’t recommend that you go dress like that for a job search process.

You should stand out for your capacities and not for flashy clothes you wear. Don’t dress in a way that people will remember your clothing and not you. Elegance includes soberness and good taste.

In synthesis, don’t dress in such a way that other people “turn to look at you”.
